Interactive Light festival Oostende

3D Water projection - 3D animation - Interactive projections

Synopsis

Proud to have worked on Lichtgolf Oostende, a city-wide light festival where stories, light, and interaction guide visitors through the city after dark.

I worked extensively on the Leopoldpark installation: a large-scale 3D animation projected onto a 10×10m waterscreen. A giant whale slowly moves through the scene, carrying fragments of the city on its back, surrounded by fish, birds, and flowing light, a quiet, dreamlike moment where Oostende drifts between sea and land.

LEOPOLD PARK

I was responsible for the third stop of the experience. We were given a story about a whale, and my role was to bring it to life visually. Imagining a whale carrying the city of Oostende on its back, where sea and city merge into one surreal landscape.

I created the animation and enhanced it with compositing. The final piece was projected onto a 10x10 meter water screen, while visitors listened to the story through headphones, fully immersed in the visuals.
