Spaces
yondr’s own product: one 3D model becomes a photoreal configurator and campaign-ready visuals for every product variant.
Introduction
Spaces is a product we build at yondr for brands with complex, configurable catalogues. Customers configure their exact product in photoreal 3D, streamed in full quality to any device, on a website, in a showroom or at a trade fair. Marketing teams get photo and video of every variant from that same model, placed in AI-generated scenes that match their brand and market.
No physical photo shoot, and no invented details: every image starts from the real product. You can find the full story on getspaces.ai.

My role
Spaces is made by a small team of three: Michiel builds the system and code, Alwyn the website and front end, and I take care of everything 3D, from the client’s files to the finished configurator.
- Check the model. Clients send their product data, often as CAD. I look at how it is built and what needs fixing.
- Convert and optimise. I turn the CAD into clean FBX and optimise it until it runs smoothly in a game engine.
- Make it look real. UV unwrapping, materials and every detail that makes the product look its best.
- Build the scene in Unreal Engine. Lighting, cameras, all the material variants, and the parts that can be switched on or off.
- Ship it. I make the build, stream it through Arcware and set up the configurator and its interface on the Spaces platform.
Every product is different, so every project brings its own puzzle. The goal stays the same: whatever model comes in, it ends up as a configurator that looks and works the way it should.
Product configurator
Customers build their product in a lifelike 3D scene: colours, materials, options and camera angles, all in real time. Because it streams from Unreal Engine, it looks the same on a phone as on a big screen in a showroom or at a trade fair.
Content engine
The same model feeds the content engine. Pick a camera and a variant, describe a scene, and Spaces places the product in an AI-generated environment, ready for a campaign or a local market. Every variant can get its own photos without a shoot.
From configurator to campaign
Each pair shows a product as it is configured in Spaces, followed by that exact configuration in a generated scene. Same model, same details, just a new world around it.

The generated scenes can move too.
Real output, real brands
A selection of visuals made with Spaces for the brands that use it, from kitchens and hotel desks to vans and off-roaders.

Cavalier
Cavalier builds luxury versions of the Mercedes V-Class. Their configurator lets you design your own: body colours and two-tone finishes, forged wheels, and an interior with a choice of leathers, materials and fabrics. I prepared the van inside and out and built the configurator in Unreal Engine.

Configurations
Cavalier shared the configurator with their own reel on Instagram. Below it, a few of the two-tone combinations their customers can put together, straight out of the configurator.

Also built on Spaces
The Urban Automotive configurator runs on Spaces too: body kits, wheels and wraps, with over 200 options and more than a million combinations, streamed in real time.
